In an article by E.D. Kain, published by Forbes, Portuguese officials announced a 50% drop in drug abuse after 10 years of decriminalization. The Portuguese government took up the cause of treating drug addicts as sick people rather than criminals.

Having hosted Bill Clinton and Barack Obama at his estate. However I believe he had an inner-libertarian living inside him that would come out at times. Tomorrow (09/21) at 11am, the Orange County District Attorney’s office will announce whether it intends to press charges against the Fullerton Police Officers who many believe are responsible for the beating death of mentally ill drifter Kelly Thomas.
As many of informed Orange County citizens are becoming aware of, the Fullerton Police tazered and beat a mentally ill homeless man on July 5th near the Fullerton Train Station. They beat him into unconsciousness. Kelly Thomas passed away on July 10th shortly after being removed from life support at UCI Medical Center. There are many anecdotal statements from various individuals to the support of Mr. Kelly as a harmless but troubled mentally ill individual. No parent should ever live to see their children die, that in and of itself is every sensible parents worst nightmare.
