Libertarians believe peaceful people should be welcome to immigrate to the United States.
IMMIGRATION
Libertarians believe that freedom includes the ability of individuals to travel freely as long as they are peaceful. In addition, the free movement of people, products, and financial-capital across national borders is important for a vibrant, free-market economy. As a result, Libertarians believe individuals should not be unreasonably constrained by government in the crossing of political boundaries. However, we support reasonable immigration controls of foreign nationals who pose a credible threat to security, health, or property.
We support Congress taking action to protect so-called Dreamers and to implement reasonable immigration reforms. Governing via executive order is an example of arbitrary executive power -- it is Congress’s responsibility to take action.

We support increasing work visas for anyone who wishes to work in the United States. Individuals should be free to seek and obtain employment, and employers should be free to hire workers, without government interference. Both low-skilled and high-skilled workers contribute to a diverse and productive economy.

We are against classifying undocumented immigrants as criminals. Individuals who are non-violent and have not harmed other people or property have not committed a crime.
